EWTN Global Catholic Network is Hiring a Full Stack Developer Near Birmingham, AL

Full-time, Irondale (Birmingham), AL. Remote-eligible.

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT THE BIG PICTURE:

As an EWTN Full Stack Developer, you will be responsible for EWTN’s frontend and backend development for its various sites and web applications ensuring seamless integration and efficient performance across the entire software stack.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers and other internal and external developers, to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • You will develop user-friendly, responsive web applications using the latest frontend technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • You will implement robust, scalable backend solutions using server-side technologies like Ruby/Rails, Node.js, Next.js, Python.
  • You will design and optimize database schemas, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • You will create and consume RESTful APIs to integrate frontend and backend systems.
  • You will conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the quality and performance of applications; collaborate with the DevOps team to ensure smooth deployment and continuous integration of applications.
  • You will perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality and adherence to best practices.
  • You will assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in production environments.

ABOUT YOU:

  • You have proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role, with a solid understanding of web development technologies and frameworks and a solid portfolio of completed projects.
  • You are extremely proficient in frontend technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and popular frameworks/libraries like React, Angular, or Vue.js), and responsive design principles.
  • You possess strong back-end development skills with solid understanding of server-side technologies such as Ruby/Rails, Node.js, Python, or Next.js.
  • You have experience with database systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.
  • You have experience with version control systems (in particular, Git).
  • You are familiar with agile development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of software testing and debugging techniques to ensure high-quality code and experience with testing frameworks.
  • You are able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills to effectively communicate complex ideas and technical concepts.
  • You are able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Practicing Catholic with an understanding of the faith and EWTN’s mission is preferred.
